Currently we live in Sheffield but are looking to mutually exchange for a council property in the Alvaston area of Derby.
This bungalow is classified as “adapted” housing and therefor elderly applicants or applicants with mobility needs, would keep the mutual exchange within the guidelines of the councils requirements and assure the swap is uncomplicated. You could be an assigned carer for an elderly person and possibly use this opportunity to “live in” with the person you are caring for? Maybe you or someone you know is on the waiting list with “mobility needs” or ideally if you already have an adapted property but you are thinking of moving across counties to be nearer friends then this could be the opportunity for you to secure a suitable property. The government have recently stopped councils from exchanging tenants, so we have to do the leg work ourselves and then propose the exchange to our relative housing associations.
The bungalow comprises of :
Living Area ( 13’ x 12’ ) .. leading out onto tidy back garden area. ( 50’ x 24’ )
Kitchen ( 10’ x 8’ )
Wetroom ( 7’6” x 6’ ) with grab rails
Bedroom 1 ( 11’6” x 9 ‘)
Bedroom 2 ( 10’ x 6’ )
With “patio” area to the front of the property and room to park. Suit person(s) with mobility/ health issues. Although the property is “two bedroomed”, the rooms are quite small and would ideally suit a married couple or single person. rent £68 pw
We are looking for similar property in the Alvaston area of Derby. Ideally, your property would be single level accom, (ground floor flat, bungalow or maisonette) or 2 Bed house with downstairs toilet or bathroom and a “dining area” that could be useful as a bedroom or sleeping area for an elderly person.
If you are interested, or know someone in the area who may benefit from single level accommodation, please get in touch
